Dental Bridges

Replace missing teeth and restore your smile with a custom dental bridge.

A dental bridge is a custom-made restoration that is used to replace one or more missing teeth. It is made up of two or more crowns that are placed on the teeth on either side of the gap, and a false tooth or teeth in between. At Opal Family Dental, we use high-quality materials to create durable and natural-looking bridges that will restore your smile and improve your ability to chew and speak.

When is a Dental Bridge Needed?

A dental bridge may be recommended to:

  • Replace one or more missing teeth: A bridge can be used to replace a single missing tooth or a row of missing teeth.
  • Restore your ability to chew and speak: A bridge can improve your ability to chew and speak properly.
  • Maintain the shape of your face: A bridge can help to maintain the shape of your face by preventing your cheeks from sinking in.
  • Prevent your remaining teeth from shifting: A bridge can prevent your remaining teeth from shifting out of place.

The Dental Bridge Process

The dental bridge process typically takes two visits to our office. Here’s what you can expect:

First Visit:

During your first visit, we will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap for the crowns. This involves removing any decay and shaping the teeth to make room for the crowns. We will then take an impression of your teeth, which will be used to create your custom bridge. A temporary bridge will be placed on your teeth to protect them while your permanent bridge is being made.

Second Visit:

During your second visit, we will remove the temporary bridge and place your permanent bridge. We will check the fit and bite of the bridge to ensure that it is comfortable and looks natural. Once you are happy with your new bridge, we will cement it in place.
